Tammie Brown

Tammie S. Brown is an assistant director with the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG), located in Kansas City, MO. She is responsible for directing the HHS/OIG/OAS/NEAR quality control review (QCR), peer review and CPA out reach functions. She also serves as the Single Audit Coordinator for Health and Human Services. The NEAR staff reviews approximately 1800 single audit reports, conducts between 8 and 12 quality control reviews, and participates in between 8 and 14 NASACT peer reviews annually. In 2007, Ms. Brown received a joint PCIE/ECIE award in recognition for her contributions in assisting the PCIE National Single Audit project management team. She has served as the co-chairman for an OMB workgroup focused on revising the Single Audit process. She assist OMB with annual updates to the Single Audit compliance supplement. Ms. Brown is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner. Ms. Brown is a member of the AICPA, AGA and ACFE.
